Some other steps to consider are: adding heat teflective tape to ic core and piping, adding water wetter to the ic system, running the turbo intake into the fender/build an intake heat shield/ air box, make a turbo heat shield, add small fans to your ic heat exchanger, and run ducting into the engine bay via an outside source

If you do cut the hood, the Mitsubishi Evo style vent would help flow through the coolers as well as keeping that heat out of the engine compartment. But, I hope you can get it without cutting.

What's up with the rear wheel in that bottom picture? Is that camber adjustment to try to tame insane oversteering?

I agree any louver style vent would look best if it comes to it. Painted body color or satin black. There are some cool vents out there off other 80's cars

The thing is guys....you can have as much under hood temps as you want as long as the IC core is insulated and you have good circulation. That's the other thing you could try...is a beefier pump. When you open the cap on the IC, can you see the fluid going through? If so, how quickly does it look like it's going?

You may want to do some testing like I did:

http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=23089

Specifically:
http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic. ... 46#p143846

As you can see, the smaller diameter hose & fittings really kills your flow rates. What I might suggest is opening up the system and have it pump into one bucket and suck out of another bucket. This will give you an idea of what the flow rate is. If your flow rates are pretty low, upping them will help move the cooling medium from the exchanger to the intercooler.

As I mentioned, I'd probably suggest insulating or put some metallic insulating tape/wrap around the IC core and the resevoir.

I'm telling ya man you can get that car in a tuner mag with these pics of yours.

In the 3rd pic are those rubber marks on the ground or just wet tire tracks? Geting a pic with a long 4 tire burnout would light a fire under a writers ass!!

And have you thought about changing the grill pattern?

papaer is coming but with the small 1.00 housing it made 320whp but if i get the 1.09 or bigger will make more. at this point its just crazy to control all ready, it made 50whp more from my 17psi road tune.

the hose is a bmw 1990 325 6 hose witch has a step in it the same size as the provent 200.

ya there is so many pictures of all the legacy turbos that have rallied, there is more legacys in diffrent paint that i never new there was

ill try and snap all the pics off them in the book and post them up when i get some time

so my us-plastic stuff has come in and its time to put in my provent 200 & got a little reservoir for the AWIC set up and it works perfect.

Image

here we have it all put together and ready to rock.

Image

made some brackets out of rod aluminum to hold it in place and its working perfect, oil is being seperated and dumped back the right way.

Image

also used my factory coolant reservoir and re mounted it to the strut top with a nice aluminum plate. the AWIC reservoir fits perfect in that little corner and its working perfect.

Nico,

Are you just using that tank for an "expansion" tank?

I put one on mine, but it has always stayed completely dry. The system pressure never has exceeded the cap pressure rating, so it's never relieved into the expansion tank.

Yep just a expansion tank, so far I put it up to the second tic on the bottle and it sucked right to half and it looks pretty good so far and that's hard driving.

I been checking it daily and after runs the line is clear so its doing its job because its moving back and forth so far like the rad..

I bled mine with the yellow funnel and capped it with the pump on so it would have pressure..

Josh is just saying his temps never get high enough to create the pressure required to open the cap.

Yeah, Kimo said it....Nothing's wrong, I just haven't seen the pressures get high enough to cause the fluid to go in the expansion tank. I've pressure tested the system and it holds pressure just fine.

I'd be curious to know what the pressure relief is for the cap on your AWIC setup. Can you check and let us know? I'll check mine this evening if I remember and let you know how they compare.

Thanks
Josh

first......awesome

second..
so from back in the day playing with ea82's, i have notced a few things about your car. the front bumper is odd! It isnt the correct one for pre faclelift, yet isnt the same as post due to the turn signal area. also you should have the rear license plate in the bumper with a filler panel on the trunk

i guess the cool thing you can always install the trunk panel to ditch the rear plate all together 8)
