I'm up in Massachusetts-I might be able to get one of the guys at work to ship them down-car parts are not unusual in the shipping and receiving area at work-a car dealership-I also remembered that the pattern on the '91 is different then the '93 and I no longer have the rear seats for a complete match

That would be cool, I don't really make it up to Mass too often. My rear seats are in mint condition, it looks like nobody has even sat in them

My hero <3

Finally got my work bench set up so I have somewhere to work, rather than sitting on the ground!

I am so unbelievably thrilled to have a garage that I own and know that I won't have to move everything out of it.

Put the crossmember in today!

Image

Got it all bolted in today. The sway bar and tie rods don't bolt right up to the Legacy hubs. The sway bar that came with the crossmember has a different type of bolt on the end, it seems to be pressed in with a nut on one end; while the original one had a bolt that went directly through it.

Does the tie rod need to be pressed in, or should it freely slide in? I measured both of them and they are almost exactly the same size.

The tie rods usually go in enough for you to put the castle nut on and tighten them down. Can you do that?

Nah, not quite. It was pretty late so I didn't have the energy to try too hard. I'm gonna give it another try tomorrow and see what I can come up with.

No dice, I tried to press it in there with some wonky tool my dad gave me, then hammered the shit out of it and nothing. I guess the wrx tie rod end is just slightly bigger than the legacy one was. I'm going to order some Legacy tie rod ends

Damn, I haven't updated this thread in too long! SO updates:

- Tie rods don't fit, I am going to order Legacy end links and put those on.
- Steering knuckle thing between column and rack didn't fit, so I combined the two:

Dashboard which was previously thought to be unsalvageable has been brought back from the dead by my lovely wife, who has been scrubbing it with vinyl cleaner whenever I am working on the car:

Image

The whole dash looked like this white dry elephant foot part prior to her starting:
Image

Here it is now, tough to get a good photo:

Image

Image

Once she is all done cleaning it I am going to seal it with some product recommended by a detailer friend. I also removed the vents so they could be properly cleaned, they were so filthy and caked with dirt. Even inside the dash was filled with dirt.

A friend of mine needed a new steering rack, so I traded him my original one, plus non-turbo crossmember for some BC coilovers. They are for 05-09 Legacy GT, so the rears aren't going to work on my car, but the fronts will work once I swap out the top hats. I am contemplating rebuilding them, but I have never done so before and there is a lot of conflicting info on the forums, so Im not quite sure yet.

Hahahah I don't know why I am just seeing these posts! Yes she actually does have a sister, a single one at that!

We were using some maguiers vinyl cleaner that I found at walmart. I will look what the name is when I go down to garage. Also here is a real photo of the interior after the cleaning:

That is some epic gap! I really like those wheels and their color. It's like a better looking version of the oem 6-spokes.

Wheel gap is seriously next level. It seems like all the struts are seized or something. The car is sitting higher than it was before, and there is no give when I put all my weight on the car.

Ok ok fixed it:

I ran some of the harness today so it wasn't hanging all over the place. I also put the fuse box in. There are some wires that I need to identify still, and the drivers side headlight plug is missing and replaced with some shitty loose wires.

Man, good work on the dash! Lots of elbow grease, but def not impossible to correct. I've done two of those damn first gem dashboards...
