Thanks dude! I owe it all to my wife though, I would've just complained on the internet had she not stepped in.

The trim piece looks like something that goes on a fender

You mean ej20k right? Wasted spark, 3 plug ecu, straight turbo inlet under the manifold, etc.

I suppose you would know better. It's weird, a lot of the engine import places list the motors as Ej20g & ej20k. There is so much conflicting information too, I've seen the ej20k listed as forester and STI. Which one is it?

I also saw that, can't tell if it came like that or someone painted it at some point.

Considering the age of the motor I would guess it came like that which would lead me to believe that's a 20k engine. BUT I can't swear to it. I bet Mike can.

usually, a factory coating would not flake off unless oil or another fluid was allowed to remain on the surface for some time-not likely for the intake manifold-I think you should paint it "postal blue" :)

You just need to put your intake manifold harness on that engine and then work out all the pcv and intercooler stuff.

No, you shouldn't have to do that. Just your stock 22t harness.

I originally ordered the wrong clutch fork, so now I am trying to order the correct one. The tranny is from a 1996 Impreza, which was originally cable, but I have converted the car to hydraulic. Verifying this is the fork I would need for a hydraulic setup:
