Im hooked.

Post by aredub2 »

New member. First time Subaru owner. A few weeks ago I bought my first 1992 Legacy. Intended to be a daily driver. I didn't know a thing about Subaru. It was a n/a fwd manual. Super peppy. Love it. Became a member and figured it would be more fun to have an all wheel drive so I found a beater parts car. Realized I might not be able to have a dd and a project and figured an ss was the way to go anyway. Lucked out and found one nearby within my budget. Now I have three Legacys and am on the lookout. Really anxious to dig in and learn. Hope to have some fun and maybe meet some good people. Ive already started pulling parts from parts car. Ive been fixing a few things here and there on the ss to use as a daily. Got our first rain in a while today so I popped the trunk to try to find a leak Ive been chasing.

Welcome to the board, I'm right down the road from you as well.

They are addicting. I had 3 or 4 of them at one time, all SS. Unfortunately only 1 was a manual.

The build journals section will be a great part of the site to start with. You can read up what works and what doesnt. What people have tried amd wether they succeeded or not.

Nice!

Did you find the leak?
I've got a leak in my trunk and I cannot figure out where.

Not yet. Cleaned the gutter around the trunk lid real good. Havent had much rain lately. Think it may be the spoiler gasket but need to take it off.

I merged the "I'm Hooked" thread into this one.

as far as the leak goes, check the rubber drain hose off the antenna. It has a plastic receiver hole it goes into, lower in the wheel well, but is usually not in there any more. Also if the antenna mast is broken off, a ton of water is coming in to the trunk that way too.

Using my phone to upload and I'm not too familiar with the way this works so please forgive me if Things get messed up. So I wanted to fit the intercooler on today but this ac line was in the way.

Clutch went out on the L a few months ago. It's been sitting too. Had to replace rear window from a rock the neighbors mower threw. Just swapped whole door. Got me in wrenching mood. Pulled parts car from the bushes, pressure washed and spent a few hours after work pulling drive train parts for awd swap. Ss is still in garage and on hold.

Pulled her out of the shed and installed a new radiator. The old one was crumbling as I disconnected the top hose. Feels like all my calipers are locking up. Going to need some tlc.
