Boost pressure operated spray kit

Post by HellBinder »

Im not familiar at all with intercooler spray kits, but i had the idea of getting an adjustable pressure switch to switch power on and off to the second washer bottle pump and using a ground switch in the cab.

So when your boost hit a desired pressure it ran automatically.
Horsepower is horsepower, the label on the box doesnt matter.

I saw plans for making one of those somewhere. I'll have to see if I can dig them up.

It had a potentiometer so you could adjust at what level it cut on, and an on/off switch.

Napa sells a pressure switch, I have one installed on my Air to water setup to activate the circ pump. Easy to install, and threads right into the plug on the intake manifold.

Hobbs Pressure Switch Napa Auto Parts $35.00 P/N# 701-1575 This switch IS adjustable! Pop off the rubber cap on one end and adjust away. It comes from the store to kick on at 4psi.

Looks like Rick beat me to it. I rigged up a 5th injector on my XT using a Hobbs pressure switch and a relay. Your idea would use the same setup, but just have a sprayer system instead of an injector. The Hobbs switch is fully adjustable, I had mine set to kick on the injector at like 12psi... it wasnt rocket science, but it kept the car from leaning out.

I believe I sourced mine online, and paid probably $15 for it. It was a couple years ago, so details have slipped from memory.
