Want to know if this IC will work?
I was wondering if it would bolt right up to the turbo without any mods. It says its for 02-06 wrx/sti. Its a front mount with all piping and connectors. I have a 93 ss.

Nick is 1000% right!93TurboLegacy wrote:I was wondering if it would bolt right up to the turbo without any mods. It says its for 02-06 wrx/sti. Its a front mount with all piping and connectors. I have a 93 ss.
Especially a Front Mount Intercooler... Those can be a real bitch to install. Search for front mounts... There is some info on how to put them in...
BUT youre better off getting a 2006-2007 WRX OEM Top Mount IC... Or a 2004-2007 Forester XT Top Mount (its the same as the wrx one)
Then, in case you didnt know, you will run into issues with the turbo. Our stock teeny weeny VF-11 have a 45* clocked intake outlet. Most have a 90* Outlet. As are the WRXs STis, FXT's and LGTs.
So you have to rig up a way to connect the turbo to the IC. There is a lot of info on here about it.
Hope this helps.

I know he was talking about an FMIC... That is why I said they are a bitch to install... AND in case he is just looking to intercool the car... Which, I am assuming is the goal instead of super hot-roding the car, because he didnt know about this stuff yet. I was simply suggesting putting a Top Mount Intercooler on. Since, although not directly bolt in, are much simpler to install.Arctic Assassian wrote:Sorry spence, but he is talking about an FMIC. I don't think there is an intercooler on the planet that will bolt right in without any modification. That car you have there buddy, It's unique as fuck, there is nothing else like it out there.
Then I gave him suggestion on a TMIC install, why? Because an FMIC is a fairly large undertaking and stock 300hp STis are still only cooled via TMICs... So an FMIC is most likely overkill. Not to mention the boost lag associated with them.
Make sense?
And there are no aftermarked FMICs currently made that I have heard of that bolt right in... ALL need a decent amount of modifications. Especially compared to a TMIC...

Check NASIOC, the Part Shed and any local subaru performance shops that may have taken one off.
