Much thanks to gearboxtech.com (the shop Phil works at) because they
came up with most of this.

1) Completely kink-free intercooler piping from the stock turbo to the WRX intercooler. Woo hoo! Now it doesn't whistle like crazy anymore!
* 1 blue, silicone TurboXS 90 degree elbow coming off the turbo outlet (45mm diameter I think).
* 1 red Samco silicone y-pipe for WRX connecting to the intercooler ducts. Note - Cut off the bend that went to the WRX turbo if you are using the stock turbo.
* 1 metal pipe, mandrel-bent, 45 degrees
* for extra ghetto look, be sure to avoid matching your colors.

what is the dimeter of the mandrel bent pipe?

i've been working on the 06/07 tmic install for over a month and a half and this is the last piece of info i need... as these pipes are impossible to get.

any help greatly appreciated!!

I'd say as long as the pipe is between the size of the ID of the turbo outlet and the ID of the Y-pipe you should be set...

Just measure the ID of the tubing, with some form of instrument. There's your answer.

Amen dude. I have been looking at my top mount for MONTHS b/c doing custom stuff the first time is hard. twice I have taken everything apart, failed to get the plumbing to line up and had to go back to stock. then WAIT for more parts to come and try it again....

and then I went ahead with clutch etc etc which exhausted my "work-on-the-car" energy supply.... but I am forming my resolve to get this thing intercooled.

I guess I am confused in the picture EXACTLY what you are doing.

The TD04 should be an easy bolt-up with that Intercooler ( with a minor extension of the intercooler to turbo piping.)

I just took a 2 inch exhaust pipe ( 4 inches long) and welded a small side piece for the diverter valve. that was it.

I can take pics if you want.

A used WRX TD04, an STi turbo...anything like that. It just would need a 90* pipe on the tubo inlet. Easy enough...

I agree. I would try and get a good used one from Nasioc.

Can probably pick one up for under 300.

That way if you get a bigger turbo later, you will not have to do any mods to make it fit.

HELL- THERE ARE 2 FOR SALE HERE ON THE FORUM RIGHT NOW.

Hahahaha I know. I guess clamping a 90* silicone piece to the turbo can be a biiiiit intimidating. Hahahaha.
