Idea for clutch reservoir

I was working on a Ford Contour for a friend and when I went to fill the clutch reservoir I was a bit confused.... I simply couldn't find it.

I looked in my Haynes manual which covers all but the last year of the Contour and it said it was under the dash..... Not!

After not finding it anywhere I decided to follow the plumbing from the MC.... turns out on the last year of the contour they just got rid of the reservoir and ran a hose to the Brake MC reservoir. What a cool idea!

Why not cut down the existing reservoir and put a nipple on it for a hose to the Brake reservoir?

Hmmm, or another idea thats probably way more difficult: My car was swapped from an auto to a manual and a cable type clutch went in instead of the hydraulic style clutch. I didn't even think of this till last night when I laid in my 06 intecooler, low and behold it fits great

That works if you plan on using NA transmissions. True turbo transmissions are not setup for cable clutches are they entirely different.

i wonder if it would be possible to fit the countour clutch MC onto a subaru?

might need to make a couple adapters but i would imagine it could work.

wouldnt be any different than istalling a race setup like a tilton cluch pedal and MC.

My friend actually got a clutch reservoir off a 92ish Eclipse at a junkyard that had an offset to it, and we trimmed an inch off and it fit/worked great. But the idea of plumbing it from the brake reservoir is pretty cool.

I'll have a look at my buddy's 91 eclipse and check out that reservoir on there. Thanks for the tip.
