Post by Mrkillem »

i had some questions about making my own intercooler cores, exactley how hard would it be to do? im talking about the core itself not the piping or end caps to the core i already have those. i own a foundry and can pretty much pour any type of aluminum.

ummm....making the metal would not be the hard part. The bending of it into the little swoopy bits that make up an intercooler core would be the hard bit.

Your already way ahead of the game if you can do your own end-tanks. Making the core is a whole new ball game.

This should give you an idea.

All that lead. Wow. Did I get cancer after I changed my radiator?

I'd recommend buying a core and welding the appropriate end tanks to it.

+1 ^^ Thats how my buddy does his custom V-Mounts for his RX-7. I think he uses Isuzu box truck IC cores.
