Thanks adam, nice write-up and pics. Its funny because i have the same exact intercooler as in the pics also gave me inspiration to do it myself! oh and btw,if anyone is using this as a reference, note that the pics are from a right hand drive car without abs. I'll have to move a couple things but should fit like a glove.

Cool. Love to see how it comes out. I'm going to do mine this way next year and is different from how they are typically done. i.e. the IC is "inverted" and not the largest possible size because of where it loops back to the engine - under the headlights! Only the very cool people (time attack subarus in the U.k., Aus, and NZ) will do there cars this way <grin> Cheers,

You will still need to cut the bumper beam out.

SOME/Most of the The Beam can remain with a FMIC see Dan's UHEV build Journal.

I did something very similar to what Dan did on my SS but used a bigger core (31x12x3) mounted lower so it all sat inside of the bumper cover.
Crimson Red Pearl SS with the ej22t & then the EJ20G is mine.

Saving the beam does requires ALOT more work than just chopping the center out of it but you should have to do it just once...

Neat! Did you or SubaruNation ever take pics of your battery relocation? Trunk I assume? I'm looking for visuals of how that can be done (well).

Cheers,

I never took any pics of the battery box but it is pretty easy/straightforward.

I bought the battery relocation kit from summit racing but used a smaller battery box bought locally, ran the power cable, & bolted the b-box down right behind the back seat.
