For Sale 1994 Subaru Legacy Sun Sport with extensive modifications

I bought this car from another member of this forum 3 years ago. It had hoses just hanging to atmosphere, numerous oil leaks, mechanical damage to the Turbo. Since then I have rebuilt the engine and got it running again fixed all the subsystems in the engine bay but it has been a problem child. I no longer have the passion necessary to finish the project and I am growing tired of the realities of driving an old clunky turbo Subaru from the 90s. I hope to find a new passionate owner willing to turn this car into something awesome, but will settle for someone willing to part it out.

The engine has been rebuilt as an EJ22T/20G hybrid stroked to 2.35L it includes
• A nitride coated STI crankshaft (modified for #3 thrust bearing)
• ACL race bearings
• Forged Carillo connecting rods
• Custom JP pistons with break in and high temperature coatings
• Nitride coated piston rings
• Custom Cometic MLS head gaskets
• EJ20G DOHC heads
• ARP headstuds
• New case bolts
• New O rings and seals
• New water pump
• New piston oil jets installed with red Locktite (these are known for falling out and causing engine damage)
• New timing belt tensioner and idlers

Additional upgrades include
• HKS kevlar timing built
• Grimmspeed aluminum crank pulley
• Killer B Motorsports oil pickup and baffle plate
• Subaru water/oil heat exchanger (only MY 91 versions of this car came with that)
• Walbro 255 lph fuel pump
• Custom AN parallel fuel rails (should allow drop in upgrade higher flowing injectors
• STI yellow side feed injectors
• FAST adjustable AN fuel pressure regulator
• LIC Motorsports adjustable timing belt idlers
• HKS high flow intake
• IHI VF-22 Turbo (rebuilt and upgraded with a billet compressor wheel)
• IAG air oil separator (because built Subaru motors have lots of blowby)
• 06 WRX intercooler (stock this vehicle had no intercooler)
* Full boost recirculation setup
• Go Fast Bits anodized aluminum re-circulation valve
• Mishimoto aluminum radiator and matched fans
• Tial 38mm external wastegate
• Halman Pro manual boost controller
• Custom down pipe with separate collector for the external wastegate
• Custom 2.5” dp back exhaust with Magnaflow resonator and muffler
• Robtune modified EJ20G ECU
• MSD Coil pack
• Exedy clutch and pressure plate
• JDM Group N 4 piston brakes in the front
• Stainless steel brake lines
• Brembo 2 piston calipers on Cartboy adaptors in the rear (with special dimension rotors to allow the parking brakes to work with rear STI wheel hubs)
• Koni inserts, on (lowered) H&R springs
• An aftermarket Pioneer sound system with GPS navigation, and a powered amp and subwoofer
• A brand new Subaru OEM power steering rack with Whiteline bushings
• A rebuilt power steering pump with custom AN lines
• VLSD R160 differential
• ARP wheel studs on the front hubs
• HID projector headlights
• A more aggressive looking front bumper with a modified lip
• Black WRX bucket seats
• Cartboy short shifter
• New OEM power steering rack
• Rebuilt OEM power steering pump
• Centric master cylinder
• Centric clutch master cylinder
• ECB yellow stuff brake pads
• A pillar mounted digital AFR oil pressure/oil temp, and boost gauges
• 18” wheels (I forget what brand) with high performance low profiles tires
• Silicon windshield wipers (it rains a lot in the Seattle area)

The good:
• Unique and rare Subaru that screams of 90’s aesthetic
• Freshly rebuilt forged engine (internals should be good to 600HP)
• Sunroof (still works)
• Most components and sensors in the engine bay that wear out have been replaced
• Comes with additional parts including trim, wheel hubs and an ECU
• Boxer rumble <3

The bad:
• This car has been crashed once (by the previous owner) and has minor bending in a few places (it drives straight but won’t fully align in spec, something in the rear suspension is bent) and some of the body panels have been repaired
• The car was lowered in a non standard way and the wheels rub on something before reaching full lock when steering. Additionally it is too low to put in proper fender liners I think this can be fixed with a good set of coilovers
* There seems to be a bit of play in the steering (I suspect that the steering rack needs to have the bushings replaced and be reseated)
• No air conditioning (it wouldn’t fit with the bigger radiator and DOHC heads) although I have a full set of all parts needed to install a functioning air conditioning system
• No cruise control (had to remove it to install the IAG air oil separator)
• No horns (should be an easy fix if you get a pair of Subaru OEM horns)
• Minor oil leak from the aftermarket oil pressure sensor
• Minor oil seepage from other oil lines when cooling down from heavy driving
• Typical 30 year old car problems like rattly noises and minor rust
• Transmission has 226k miles on it and worn synchronizers, it doesn't shift like it used to. Additionally this transmission was designed for a 165hp power output and can not handle being launched or abused. If you are going to turn the boost up then you need to swap in a stronger transmission.
• Forged engine assemblies have larger clearances between moving parts and don’t last as long as OEM engines. As this is a completely custom engine the long term reliability of it is unknown.
• Window motors are tired and struggle to open and close

The ugly:
• Unfinished paint job with a combination of silver, primer gray and black
• The hood scoop was attached in a non standard way and one side vibrates in the air when driving
• Currently the car maxes out at 18psi of boost, while the turbo and engine are capable of more 18 PSI maxes out the MAF and the RobTune ECU doesn’t know how to safely deliver more fuel above this level of air flow. Running the car to its full potential will require a standalone ECU swap.
* The car runs rich and tends to deposit soot in the exhaust and behind the vehicle on startup

I want to get at least $6000 but selling a car during a Pandemic is difficult, if you are interested make an offer.

Last time I checked Facebook marketplace doesn't let you post a sale value that exceeds the max Kelly Blue Book value of the car. Which in this case is $2000. Given that I have upwards of $5k in the engine alone I am not listing it for $2k.
