1991 Subaru Legacy SS, 123K Original Miles! Updated w/ pics

Post by Boostinc »

Hello!
Up for sale I have my AMAZING 91 SS, my spoiled bottom bitch.
123K Original miles
Automatic
Color: CGM
Price: $5K
Location. ABQ, NM
History:
Soooo Ill start off by saying I am a former Subaru shop owner which is one of the reasons I have cared for this gem and why she is in great shape.
Bought the car 6-7 years ago from an associate who flipped subies, said he had this car sitting for about 5 years and he had plans for it and it needed a tranny. The silver body was in immaculate shape besides the clear starting to go on various areas, she only had 120k, we put fresh fuel in, checked the oil and hooked up the jump box and she fired right up. I bought it. It sat in my yard for a few years, but did all new fluids, plugs ect before hand and she just sat till I found a tranny about 2.5 years ago. Around that time, I had traded some labor for a paint job and we went with the CGM off the 06 sti. Moldings and trim pieces painted black.
Once paint was finished, all new fluids again, and everything that was dying or corroded got upgraded.
Wally 255 in the tank
4 pots up front
Mishimoto drop in radiator
STI pink suspension all around and
GC wheels for shoes and to fit the brakes with new rubber last fall.
Interior wise, the dash is immaculate, Ive had it covered while sitting and still has a mat on it. There is some cracks in upper door cards and some chipping leather in the seats. Besides that shes in amazing shape. Oh we put a momo steering wheel in it cuz im a big dude and the stock wheel was made for large boats.
Pioneer deck and speakers all the way around about 2 years ago
New tint 2 years ago
sti floor mats
Engine wise everything is completely stock besides the mishimoto and a TBE exhaust. About a year ago I tracked down all OEM coolant hoses from my dealer included heater core lines and rad hoses as well as new OEM clamps.
Gates Timing kit with OEM water pump and T-Stat done while radiator was out.
New front axles and ball joints up front last spring.
Valve covers are seaping but was waiting to track down all the intake mani plastics before i did that restore cuz i dont want to break anything. The car runs like an absolute gem.
Only issue is that the tranny is starting to go. Its either a 4th gear slippage or something with the lockout solenoid. Put 100 miles on her last week in the snow to come to that conclusion. If you stick it in 3rd she drives just fine. Gas gauge doesnt work, but the gas light does.
Since the she really doesnt get driven a lot except for on snow days and random start ups to keep her fresh and charged, and theres never been a time that she lets me down in the past two years.
I will clean her and get more pics up this weekend and if youre serious I can always get you more.
If i would keep her I would plan on rear axles, brake lines, and grey GC sti seats (iv seen one set in 2 years)
I dont need to sell her and this would make for some much needed room but I see no point of selling it for less than $5K firm. Please let know if you are serious and I have no problem talking to you on the phone. I can also deliver in my enclosed car trailer. Please ask questions!
Thanks

So is that a stock SS 4EAT replacement in there now? It was used when installed and now dying again or rebuilt?
Thanks

Yes, stock ss 4EAT. One of my customers found one at u pull and asked if I wanted it cuz the engine was gone already. He paid $100 for it and i told him if it worked id give him 400. It worked a lot better than the other one, and honestly worked fairly good until recently. I actually drove it today and feels more like something in the valve body rather than the clutches.
Other things to note. Left front fender was replaced, can see in the engine pic, I actually found a new OEM Subaru one at the dealer for like $200 which was cool, did that before the paint. It also was pretty much garaged everyday after it was painted. We pulled it in and out of my shop pretty much everyday.
Original owners manual and jack kit and spare.
I took off the wing.
Sunroof is cracked but i have another uncracked one.
That left front a pillar panel is getting glued back on this week.
AC is still R12, havnt converted, wasnt my summer car so never really cared.
She drove great today, loves the crisp cold air.
If anyone is serious I will actually clean her, take and send detailed pics and vids of her driving and running ect...

The CARFAX report states that this car sustained "severe damage" in an accident in 2015. How was everything repaired? Do you have pictures of the undercarriage?

Ouch, yeah $5k is a lot to ask for any car that's been branded. Are you running that trunk lid with the spoiler holes open, or covered? Any issues with water in the trunk?

Ill have to get back to you on that. Not sure how you got the correct vin, but the ive owned the car for 6 years now and have never filed a claim on her lol. Depending on what you looked up, i have totaled other subarus. But no, I have a free and clear NM title, was not made aware by the state of NM during title transfer, or my insurance probably would of said something as well. I also literally registered it last month and no mention of anything when paying off the value. I have a buddy who runs a car lot so I will have him check the VIN tomorrow, but I know for a FACT that I have never wrecked this or have filed a claim on it, so a 2015 seems odd, my buddy wrecked my GC that year? There would be no reason to file a claim and i can surly get proof through my insurance company. If somehow it is branded, I will be thoroughly disappointed, and that was not my intention at all. I have posted it solely on BBS so I could watch it go to a good home.
Holes are currently open and have been. Was waiting for OEM badges and honestly was pissed the painted didnt fill them like I asked. But no, no issues with water, badges and wing came off when painter and as said before she is/was garaged most of the time after that, also we live in New Mexico, not much water. I have checked after it has rained hard and very little to nothing gets into the trunk.

Carfax does have it on there... But its a mistake. My buddy says it happens all the time, if the car was in that major of an accident it would of easily totaled it even if i bought it back. Good thing is I can prove it with police and insurance records, just a pain of dealing with car fax, but i will contact them. I will post new carfax once fixed, hopefully soon..... Sucks for now but i know for a fact shes a clean car and for sure wasnt wrecked in 2015 which ill get straightened out.

I hope you can get it sorted out! FYI, Experian AutoCheck also shows an accident from April of 2015.

If you're wondering, you can use AutoCheck to look up the VIN using the license plate number:
https://www.autocheck.com/vehiclehistor ... te#showVin

I work for a car dealership, so I have access to CARFAX and AutoCheck.
