Hey guys,
I was curious about relocating the 02 Sensor to the 02+ WRX location as opposed to our location that's closer to the Turbo.
I basically want to use any 02+ WRX Downpipe (or aftermarket) and I'm wondering if I actually have to go through the trouble of welding on a bung.
Any detrimental effects of having it lower down the DP like the WRXs?

Not entirely sure where the WRX has it in the DP.. but the aftermarket DP I have has two bungs -- one at the top (our stock O2 location) and another at the bottom. To retain as much OEM functionality as possible, I put the stock O2 in the top bung and the LC-1 wideband O2 in the bottom bung (yes, very slight reading lag due to the distance. but better, IMO due to lower temperatures for prolonged wideband life).

The WRX has a cat in its up-pipe and because of that has an O2 sensor in the exhaust manifold. The sensor in the lower part of the downpipe on the WRX is not really the best place to put the O2 sensor for our cars. There's less heat there to keep the sensor up to temp and slower response times for closed loop operation.
For a wideband, it'd be ok, but I still prefer the stock location after the turbo.

Hmm, i have my O2 Sensor in the stock wrx location, i haven't noticed anything... think it kills performance?

In the downpipe or up-pipe?
If it's in the downpipe, it won't hurt anything, just adds a little lag to its readings.
