What do you want out of it? Obviously the more you do the better it will flow, not gonna make much difference in power though without supporting mods. There's really no negatives for doing more of the exhaust aside from cost and legality(for noise/cats)

If you really want the boxter noise, maybe a flat-6 is in your future? That'd be a LOT of work. If you want the boxer flat-4 rumble, and you have a turbo, then all you really need to do is find a muffler shop, and see if they have a Borla, Magnaflow, or other brand (not flowmaster - it doesn't sound good on a Subie) and they'll weld it to fit.

A catback will get you 80% of the way there, bigger piping will be deeper but a lot louder, a downpipe will help the sound a lot too. Right now I have a weird combination of 2.5" catback, stock 2.25" midpipe, and 4-3" DP, probably restrictive but it sounds awesome and isn't very loud, a hell of a lot quieter than the Espiler and DP my friend has on his STi

3" megan dp shortened and flangless (flange is too big would scrape on ground)
3" to the axle with no cats or resonators
2.5' long 3" to 4" megaphone exhaust tip

its loud :)

Guys I need some pictures of how yours are routed.. my friend built me a really nice mandrel system at midas the other day (he's apprenticing) and it seems that it's been crushed by the rear axle stub for some weird reason. Haven't hit anything..
