Header Fitment questions

I have seen a few threads about Header fitment and how a shop will have to weld up a new pipe for the cat section. What options are there for headers?

If I took these into a shop would they be able to make them work?

I'm assuming this is for a non-turbo car.

There isn't any stock headers that will fit without modification of cat section.

Yeah, it's for a 92. Has anyone had this done and know the rough cost to have the shop install the headers and redo the piping to make them work?

Its going to cost quite a bit to fab up something for those ones. I run theses ones on my 91 legacy and have had good luck with them so far. Good sound, some fitting issues, but great for the price. They are a direct fit which will cut down on cost. Also give a great deal more flow over stock. If you peel away all the shielding the stock manifolds are pretty constrictive IMO. Especially at the small Y right out off the head flange.

Also if you want to go a little wild these are so sweet! Wish i had got them instead

Those are equal length how do they sound?

And it would really cost that much to use the UEL's that I posted?

Those headers look wierd to me. Is that a mirror image or does the exhaust go out the opposite side on NA cars versus our turbos?

The ones I posted? Or the Magnaflow ones?

The other ones are built for the Dual Port EJ22's and EJ25's on the 2nd Gen Legacy. Our cat placement is different then the first gens.

I was wondering what could be done. She wants sound and no EL headers.

Any other options for UEL? Or any at all?

if you brought in the header, cat, muffler
i would expect to spend ~200$ to have a shop fab the rest.

UEL you can go with aftermarket EJ25 headers but you'll need to buy the cat + have them customize the rest

Just doesnt seem reasonable to get a full headerback on these cars.

I would very much like to have an equal length header and free flowing cat to go with the custom cat back I had put on a while back. I have no doubt it would wake it up a bit. What works on a 91 2.2?

Yeah a later aftermarket dual port header with a fabbed up cat section would work. What they're saying above is there's no header that bolts to our factory cats.
