O2 sensor

Post by tilidie19xx »

I have a 97 legacy outback and my second cat it all broke apart. If I cut it off and replace it with a straight pipe is that gonna **** with my O2 sensor? Or am I better off drilling a hole and welding a nut on the pipe I replace it with? I jus don't want car to run like butt

Welcome to the BBS.

Do you currently have a CEL? How do you know the second catalytic converter is broken apart?

You will need to keep the second O2 sensor there or you will get a CEL. So if you replace the second cat with a pipe you'll need to put an O2 sensor bung on that pipe so the second O2 sensor works.
