Budget Rumble

So now that I finally own a turbo Subaru, I'd like to get some of that authentic subaru boxer rumble grumble going on. What would be the best way to do this on a budget? Was considering header swap, but seems stock headers are good for something like 400hp, so doesn't make sense changing them if not really an upgrade.

Are the stock headers equal length? Car's at home so I can't look to verify. Is UEL headers only way to get the rumble sound?

school me guys

You have "the rumble" already. Getting a catless downpipe combined with something like a turboXS exhaust (the one that looks like a stock STI one) will be a way to get that rumble without it being annoyingly loud or looking like a douche.

hah, its true. bone stock, its faint but there. just want more of it :D

is the any good places that sell such parts new? most i've found all cater to the later turbo subarus

ideally, I'd like to get this look here: single slightly angled canister

don't really care if it looks douchey, the rest of the car will be subtle enough

Step 1. Acquire a cat back exhaust for an 02-07 Wrx/ STI. ( it can be stock or aftermarket)
Step 2. Decide what dowpipe route you want to go. ( If you have an OEM cat back and an aftermarket 3 inch dowpipe consider getting a mating adapter for step 3)
Step 3. Pick an exhaust shop to have the cat back custom fit to your car. ( The hangars dont line up perfectly and with most any combination of exhaust parts will require an extended mid pipe.

Still looking around. Came across this on Amazon, full combo deal. What do you guys think?

I'd have it modifed at exhaust shop to fit, but other than that how would this kit compare to some of the name brand downpipes/catbacks?
