Coolant leak & T-stat Q
Ok I have a small coolant leak, just a few drips after I park it all night. It is somewhere near the water pump. It is not from the water pump or hoses that I can see. There is nothing on the timing belt cover or on the hoses. What is next to the pump on the bottom of the engine, some kind of screw in plug with a hex socket? Is there coolant behind it? I have to drain the coolant to change the T-stat so if it is I'll check the seal on it. Other than that maybe the seal behind the water pump. Is a 170 T-stat ok, anyone have any problems going that low?

The thermostat is on the bottom side of the drivers side portion of the engine......(that's horrible grammar )
The water pump is behind the timing belt covers. The t-stat bolts right to the engine.
The big hex nuts are the coolant drain things.....you don't need to touch those.
taking the t-stat out pretty much drains everything out.
