Stock 22t issues

Post by oldbugeye »

So this weekend my timing belt jumped a tooth and I put it back together and it runs very smooth it just feels like it's in limp mode. It hits 5psi at wot and it was hitting 8 or 9 before. It feels just like limp mode but there is no cel. Any suggestions on where to start? Oh and it has a new fuel pump fuel filter new plugs.

I would suggest resetting the ECU by pulling the EGI/TCU fuse (fuse 14) or disconnect the battery for about an hour. This will eliminate any learned fuel/timing trims that may be causing your issues. If you still have problems, then we can try and troubleshoot them.

I reset the ecu and have driven it for a few days it's hitting 6psi at wot in 4th and 5th gear. I will check for vacuum leaks later today but it was boosting perfectly before the timing belt issues that's the weird part. I did take the mas air sensor out and cleaned it when I did the belt I don't know of that could be the issue maybe I messed it up. Thanks for the help.

Break cleaner leaves a residue and shouldn't be used. There's a maf cleaner that works best.

Could that residue keep it from reading correctly and keep it from boosting? I'll clean it with maf cleaner tomorrow and see if that helps.
