Idle switch?

Post by tinyturbo10 »

Hey guys,
My idle switch code just popped up a couple days ago and my car has definitely been idling a little funny at first start up until it's warmed up. I've looked around trying to find info on the idle switch and I can't seem to find much. Is it a sensor and if so where is it located? Any information helps Thanks guys

It your IAC (Idle air control) and most of the time it just needs cleaned. It's located on the passengers side (right side) of the intake. It will have two small hoses connected to it and a larger hose (about 1 inch in diameter) that goes to the plastic intake tube. Also it will have a electrical plug on top with two to three wires going to it.

The idle switch is inside the TPS. Check out these scans from the factory manual. The third scan talks about how to adjust the idle switch. It is the only adjustment that can be made on the TPS.
