Ive installed them on my SS's over the years. They are smaller than the factory pump. Louder too. But fit fine. Mine came with a filter that is I dont see in that link, and im not sure if the factory piece bolts on.

I think the pump and hose clamps are laying on the filter haha! But that's good to hear, so the factory wires match up and everything? Just take it out and bolt in the new one?

And is there any improvments in the cars smoothnes?

Everything just bolted and plugged right up for me. I didn't notice any change in hpw the car ran. Just assurance from having a new fuel pump that could supply all I need and then some..

If you got the walbro with a plug kit for another car, I could see that.

Just changed it.. Very easy job, except manoeuvring the pump assembly in and out haha.. I bought the GSS341 and it bolted and plugged straight up?

But one question, the old pump was a Airtex E8229.. Isn't that very low in L/H? Can't find much info on it online.

Based on the info from Airtex's parts catalog, that pump is only good to about 45 gph or 170 l/h

I googled the pump, found Airtex's website, saw they had a product catalog, and then selected a first gen Legacy to see what pump they listed. Once I found the one with the same part number I pulled the specs from it.
