Platinum vs Iridium Spark plugs

Post by thatsme87 »

I am redoing head gaskets timing belts and replacing the spark plugs on my 1998 subaru legacy outback 2.5l ej25 DOHC engine, and I am wondering what the best plugs to go with are I had run by and bought some NGK iridium spark plugs. But I got to thinking about it and started wondering if maybe I should of gone with the platinum ones instead? I pulled a plug out of my engine and It had autolite ap3924 platinum plugs in it, know I had run 100,000 miles on those plugs and they really are not in bad looking shape. Any suggestions

Use the iridium's. They perform well and last just as long.

Iridium will have better performance than Platinum and last longer (100k miles or so).
