Chirp chirp chirp what could it be??

Post by marsh27 »

I'm getting a Chirping noise when the car is warm and at idle. It only does when I slightly rev the car and put in gear, or it's just idling. Can't tell where it's coming from

Sounds like you have some metal rubbing together somewhere. Since it looks like it does it sitting there idling you could get the front end up in the air and climb around underneath and maybe close in on it's location.

Is it possible the intercooler is rubbing against something? I seem to remember mine touching where the igniter goes.

The intercooler does rub but that's not it

Remove the alternator & PS pump belt and see how freely each spins. The noise almost sounds like a bearing that is dried up. Other possibility could be a timing belt or the AC idler pulley.
