Diagnosis help?

Post by FromTheNorth »

I was driving my 94 Turbo Wagon yesterday and it was running awesome, but as I went to give it gas to pull out onto the highway, it started sputtering and died on me. I pulled it off to the side of the road and it wouldnt start. What do you guys think would be the best places to start?

Cam or crank sensor. Possibly fuel pump. Do u have spark or fuel while cranking it?

I haven't tried starting it since it died on me except for right afterwards. It's just been parked since then because I've been crazy at work and had to just grab another car. But I have some free time soon and plan to check it out. I have a buddy that drives subarus and he said my coil pack might have just quit. Any other easy places to start?

If it starts right up after sitting, it may be the MAF sensor. I had a similar issue many years ago.

Check the 3 basics. Air, fuel, and ignition. My wagon did something similar and it turned out to be burnt wires on the fuel pump connector. It did it without warning but lucky for me it was in my driveway one morning.
