Hi guys and gals.
I have this great EJ22 engine and some turbos to choose from but I'm not a pro so I turn to you guys. Has anybody put a turbo to an EJ22 engine and if so, what should I have in mind? What would be my best/cost effective way of doing it right? All replies very well appreciated because I suppose most of you have had turbo'd EJ22 for the most part.

Re: EJ22 to turbo rebuild
I haven't read about anyone slapping a turbo on a non turbo engine in in a non turbo car in long while on this board. Lots of asking, nobody following through.
I mean, you can literally bolt the parts on, give the turbo more fuel, give it oil and coolant feed and drains. Put the boost as low as it can go. You're car will be extremely fun for a while . The biggest problem will be control I think. Oh, and longevity.
Anyone else?

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to decide... whether to just go with factory pistons and everything or to replace some parts with stronger parts. The thing is I suspect it's just a bit too expensive. If some of you know which parts I should get it would be great if you could point them out to me.
Re: EJ22 to turbo rebuild
You need some sort of engine management and as Mike pointed out that's the biggest issue.
What is your budget?

Re: EJ22 to turbo rebuild
What are your power goals?
The NA EJ22 is great for low PSI turbo add-ons. With EM you can probably get 10 PSI or (a bit) more.
Search on here under Reddevil for NA turbo builds. And this: http://www.realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/ ... pic=2172.0
