I dont believe GD/GG rear sways work either. They're flat where the spare tire is just like GC/GF/GM bars.

Question though. You say the SPT springs for the GD don't lower the car, what about the SPT springs for the GC chssis?

Subaru has at the dealership, an upgrade kit from SPT for the '01 and older imprezas that will drop it 1.4" front and 1.2" rear. It costs about $218 but for me, less than $150 because of my employee discount.

Anybody have any idea what sort of realistic drop on a '95 legacy sedan (awd) and ride it would have?

about the same, but the rear will drop a touch more. At least, that's how it would be on a bc

Does anyone have numbers for the '92 SVX? Will they fit a 92 Legacy wagon? Are they stiffer? softer? what about ground clearance?

SVX suspension is completely different. The front swaybar connect the the struts, and the rear is multilink. It's possible it bolts up, but it didn't seem worth exploring.

The SVX springs are real soft for the car. 140lb/in front and 110lb/in rear. They may or may not fit. The whole swaybar connecting to the strut deal shouldn't affect putting them on a legacy, but vice versa wouldn't work. The rear suspension is essentially the same as a legacy, but it has a semi-trailing arm, instead of a trailing arm. But as scott said the rest is completely different, the front arms are more of an "A" shape than an "r" shape. and the swaybar is like three parts instead of being one solid piece. It makes for a car that handles better stock than at least a lightly modded legacy.

im wondering, im getting WRX wagon springs, i want them on my legacy struts, but im going to use wrx rear struts, will this work, for me this isnt really lined out too clear for me.

also with the rear springs for a AWD wagon (legacy) having 190 rate, and a rex wagon having144 will it sag in the rear?

Thanks,
Shean

well again that just confuses me,

what about a set of e-bay specials coilovers for a 97-01 impreza, will those work with stock strut tops? or would i have to use the WRX/GC impreza ones, my strut tops are for the tapered rear springs.

How could i possibly make it easier??

the e-crap coilovers will bolt up to a 92-94 strut and spring perch. They'll have to be adjusted to fit 90-91 struts, but they have like 16 million inches of travel, so it will work. The 90-91 perch will not work. Who knows what the rate is on those springs, i bet its waaaay off of what you'd want.

Wrx wagons have a softer spring rate and are lighter in the back, so its easy to assume that the back will sag and your handling will be compromised.

90-91 spring perches are completely incompatable with 92-94 legacy/impreza springs.

Hey so you know how some cars don't have rear sway bars? I'm pretty sure that it's just L models. I was driving behind a 93 or 94 LS AWD today, and it had a rear bar, where as my 93 L AWD does not (yet).

I was driving down a city street at work. I always wondered why some cars had rear swaybars and some didn't. Apparantly it depends on the trim level.

All the 90-91's got them. In 92-94, the lower end trim levels didn't.
