What springs should I get?

Post by STi_GUY »

Hi,

My name is Cody and I was ondering what spring would be the best for my sube. I am purhcasing KYB AGX shocks for the air susp conversion on my 94 legacy Ti (usdm). I have a modded n/a EJ22. Also, What tops should I get? I hear word of some STi tops and springs floating around. Lemme know what you guys think. Any suggestions for the entire project will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Cody

You are going to be limited to the springs you get since you got the AGX's. The AGX's are not to be run on springs that lower the car more then 1" from stock ride height (give or take a little)

Whiteline would probably put you in that category.....ummm not sure about others.

I would say get the sti top mounts. But that's me.....Adam should be able to get them for you for a good price.

Eibachs if you can find them should be good too. Been running the AGX and Eibachs for about 2 years and havent had a problem. They lower around 1" also.

I use the sti kit from my old 02 wrx wagon (which are agx struts). struts , springs, and top mounts on my 94 bc. very good handleing. it lowers it about 1/2 inch. hardly noticeable. the ride is more firm. any ways from my estimation just about any subaru struts and springs and many topmounts will fit a 94 bc.

Well, I think I'll try to find the Eibach springs and if I cant the Whiteline's are gonna have to do. As for the STi tops, somebody let me know where I can get a hold of some and for how much. By the way, I dont really intend to lower my suby a whole lot so I can keep the sleeper look and clear decent sized speed bumps. Also, I am going to school in VA. Bad roads and snow.

The H&R's will considerably lower the vehicle. Way more then they advertise.

Get the sti top mounts from Adam @ z1auto www.z1auto.com he's on this board too AdamBC5. I got mine for $45 a piece.

Asking $150 +shipping (are $225 plus shipping on tirerack.com), I'm not sure if they would fit a wagon, but I'm sure you could find a way. They don't fit my car at this present time b/c I have tapered springs and the H&R's aren't tapered, therefore they've never been on a car. So you have a 90 you have tapered's too, so you'll need the diffrent top mounts, like we've all said contact Adam...

I'm on here frequently, so post, email, PM, whatever you want...

Fellas,
I found some springs for a 93-00 impreza. Great condition. The seller says they are STi. Good buy? Theyre like 10usd+shipping. Here is the link:

Im still gonna go with the AGX struts unless there are better suggestions. Lemme know.

If you don't care about adjustability, the GR2's are nice. I just installed a set on my g/f's '00 RS and they feel great. We had AGX's on there before and they were good too, but I found that I didn't adjust them at all. They're a little less $$ too.

They are not sti springs, they are just standard springs.

If they are not from a wagon....the ass end will sag.
