Really? My first legacy was a 90 L AWD with stock everything and it was a very smooth ride. Put me to sleep on far too many occassions.

This Legacy we just bought for $900.00 and she was a little abused. Cigarette burns ALL over the interior, bald tires, etc. The exterior is very clean no rust or dents. We replaced the tires, left teillight which had a major crack, valve cover gaskets, etc. She runs strong (over 200000 miles on her.) But she is a little stiff...maybe she needs new shocks or something

Worn shocks will typically be softer, not firmer.

What car are you coming from? I think the Legacy is very smooth, but it is naturally much firmer than say a Taurus (or pretty much any American car from the 90s).

Is there any chance that something is rusted up and not moving? I kind of doubt it, but you never know.

Don't know what under her, but I wouldn't doubt that that was abused too. I mean she doesn't feel like shes a low rider, just wondered if there was a way to soften her up a littls. She does't ride like my Charger...LOL

Worn strut mounts, end links, or bushings can make things feel a little rough. But the Legacy is like a sports car compared to a charger, I don't think Subaru ever made an Impreza or Legacy that's rides anywhere close to that soft.

You can check the wheel arch measurements to see if it has been lowered, which could be why the ride is stiffer.
