BC Racing Coilovers

Post by JimBos Legacy »

Pretty insane drop with these BC’s for a 93-01 Impreza. The back is rubbing on the fender lining so I’m going to need to raise the ride height there, but the fitment is pretty good from the box.

The stock Subaru offsets are typically in the +50 mm range. I'd be curious if you would still have rubbing issues with more positive offset to suck the wheel into the fender.

Does it rub a lot or a little?

The rears are where it’s rubbing the most but sadly there’s no camber plates on the rear. I’m thinking of just rolling the fenders first to see if it helps, if not I’ll raise it up a bit.

Hi Jim,
Sorry to Hijack your thread, do you know if your GC8 93-01 model dampers fit the newer 01-07 model? Is the fitment the same?
Thanks

Main thing to look at is the top hat, I can measure mine if you need me to. Sorry for the super late reply.

Are you sure? I have a set of 95-99 spacers that don't fit in the rear
'93, '93 and '94 Legacy L, wagons, FWD and AWD, all are NA 2.2 w/ 4EAT.

100%. But don't take my word - Google. I don't know much about spacers, so can't comment and not clear on what you're doing - '95-'99 spacers won't fit the rears on any of your Subies in your Sig. - '93, '93, '94.

And if swapping springs, top hats must match the springs as some are tapered at top (smaller) and won't interchange. It might be covered in Jamal's Suspension 'sticky' or the other stickies on the Suspension section on here: viewtopic.php?t=33431

That's exactly what I meant. 95-99 won't fit in the rear. So you gotta drill the rear tower for the new pattern and run a 95-99 top hat. It's not ideal but given that 95-99 spacers are still available whereas nobody makes 90-94 spacers I think it's an acceptable solution.
