5sp swap: Going though my check list

Post by Cynt »

Pulled a 5sp from a WRX this weekend, and i'm asembling everything I need for the swap.

Have:
Kartboy shifter
Ped box
Master cyl
Slave cyl
Fly Wheel (old clutch and clutch cover...)
Tranny
All supports etc. (not diffrent WRX to leggy ?)
WRX Drive shaft (think i'll need a leggy 5sp shaft ?)
Rear dif
rear axles (hubs, calipers, rotors, control arms, e-brake lines too... :D lazy)

a buddy of mine has the big box of Misc. bolts and nuts that were laying around, just in case I missed something.

OK, so I need to get:

Shift knob
Fluid
Throw out bearing and...?
Clutch (do I need a new cover, or ??? im fuzzy on this.)
Do I need WRX front Axles, or with the auto leggys work?
Leggy 5sp Driveshaft?
is that all i'm missing?

Thanks guys!

Do you have the rear shifter bushing? (the one that bolts to the chassis)

I think you should get a 5MT Legacy driveshaft.

The front axles should be fine as long as the trans you're using has male stub axles.

Also read up on Josh's site about the electronics. Get an OEM clutch relay and a bunch of your favorite electrical connectors and wire.
