Speedometer help?!!

Post by 91legacyawdturbo »

I'm in the middle of swapping a jdm gda sti ej207 version 7 engine and trans in to a 97 legacy outback,
I'm at the point where I'm merging the harness's together the problem is the outbacks Vehical speed sensor
Is a 2 wire and the sti is a 3 wire. How can I get this to work. I'm using the sti ecu and the trans, but using the outbacks instrument cluster. The sti's ecu will want the 3 wire is there a conversion??

I posted a similar thread...

From the research I've done, the actual signal going to the gauge cluster or ECU is the same, it's just how the speed sensor does that. The two wire should just have a 12v supply, and then the other end would go to the ECU & gauge cluster. The three wire has a 12v positive, ground, and signal output that goes to the ECU and gauge cluster.

That's how I believe they work....
