5spd & 6spd weights

Post by Legacy777 »

I can't seem to find the thread where this was originally brought up, but someone was asking about the weight of the 5spd. So I broke out my packaging scale and weighed both the 5spd & 6spd transmissions.

The 5spd weighs = 124.1 lbs
The 6spd weighs = 194.8 lbs

That's a 70.7 lbs difference between the two.

Here are some pictures. Just an FYI, the pallet weighs 19.95 lbs. I noted that in the comments of the pictures as well.

I would say yes....because it doesn't break.....and it has a front LSD, plus a driver's controlled center diff.

Yes...it's quite heavy, and quite awkward to position on a jack too.
