Rebuilding non-working P/Steering pump

Post by libertyperth »

Hi, I am a Legacy owner from Perth, AUS. I had a Legacy/Liberty which have power steering pump problem.
I aleady changed twice, but all of them work for awhile, then break down....no leak, but just not working...pump itself stop turning, even with new fluid(correct fluid) put on..
I am thinking of rebuilding this non-working PS Pump.....what must I do? Why it can't spin?

Welcome to the BBS.

Please take a look at this thread with info & pictures on rebuilding the power steering pump.

It's possible the bearings are seizing or the pump internals may be seizing. You would need to disassemble things to determine which is the problem.
