I have a VLSD out of what I am assuming was a a 91 SS, and I have the old diff out of a 93 SS which is an open diff, the VLSD is missing the stubs. Will the stubs from the non VLSD diff fit into the VLSD diff or am I basically fucked?

They will fit and work, but no VLSD action unless you get the right LSD stubs.

damnit they seem to be impossible to find. Thanks for the info though. Can you still get them through the dealer?

Cannot get them through the dealer. List price for the stubs was around $300 iirc.

This thread has the part numbers. Surprisingly partsouq has one of the stubs? Available.

Just one lol. Well that doesn't help, ill have to hunt some down. I was just hoping to find a set I just did a fuel tank and rear crossmember so I thought why not toss that VLSD I had lying around too, but I guess that is out.

If anyone sees this and has some stubs let me know!!

Really it's just the one stub with the longer bit on the end that engages the VLSD carrier that you would need. That's the one that still shows up in Subaru's parts system, but may be un-orderable. It's listed at $130-some odd dollars.

It's much much easier to put a newer VLSD from an All-Weather package 3rd gen Outback or a WRX into a 3.90 case and call it good. Then you just use standard axles.

I believe those will work. No experience with them though.
