Anyone near Clearwater Florida to help with clutch fork?

Hey all,

I just moved down to Florida from Montana with my 93 wagon and was looking for some help on here first before taking this to the garage.

Anyone have a lift or know how to help lower the tranny?

I was having some shifting problems the past couple of days that were congruent with a bad slave cylinder, clutch sticking to floor and such, come to find out when I was bleeding the system... One side of the clutch fork has mysteriously unattached itself.

So anyone near the beach that is on this website by chance?

I'm not sure of anyone in Florida. I'd also suggest posting on the 1st gen Legacy Facebook group as it's more active.

Thanks for the reply josh,

Looks as though I'm just going to end up doing it myself in the driveway!
I'll be looking on here for tricks of the trade as I drop the tranny. Gives me some excuse to give her a good once over on everything in there.

I'll be posting pictures along the way as this is my first major tear down with her.

So after many headaches, cursing, beach pressing the transmission after it fell off the jack,
She's all back together with a new clutch fork and t/o bearing. All in all I have to say it wasn't that hard...
Just time consuming. But of course now one problem is fixed, another surfaces.

Has anyone broken off the transmission crossmember bolts inside of the chassy?
I apparently torqued too hard and broke the bolt for the first cross member on the drivers side.
Called Subaru to see if there was anyway to access the nut to get a wrench on it but there is not...
Subie tech said just weld it to the frame?!

Anyone dealt with this in the past?

You'd have to cut a small hole in the chassis to get at where the bolt would be to get a wrench on it and/or weld a new bolt back on and then weld the hole you made back up.
