Who make a direct replacement that will fit in the stock mounting location?

Goodridge makes a set. Use the ones for GC impreza for a direct fit.

You can also use the ones for the WRX. The only difference is in the mounting bracket to the strut. The WRX ones have a fixed mount that you just zip tie to the strut....no biggy really.

I believe 02-07 will work, which is before they changed the rear suspension design. The center part will not bolt to the strut and will need to be zip tied.
