After reading this thread, my first thought was "non-sliding pads". The aftermarket parts typically need a bit of massaging to get an OE fit and finish. The rattle clip hardware usually supplied in the semi-loaded calipers aren't usually awe-inspiring and unless you run with an OE supplier pad like Advics or Mintex, the stamped steel backing plate typically don't have an optimal shape and get stuck in the caliper bracket. Throw in some thicker than normal hardware and you've got yourself a stuck pad.

On top of ensuring all bases are covered, you did follow the factory bleeding order after opening the system, yes?

Chris, did you ever figure out what was going on with your car? I know I'm waking the dead here, but it sounds as if my 93 leg is doing the same thing on the right side.

No, I didn't . I do have issues with my ABS that are unresolved and my ABS might be causing a bit of drag. I have an ABS fault for the Yaw sensor. I have worked through the flow chart for this trouble code multiple times and come up with a bad ABS computer. I replaced the ABS computer and the fault is still there. I replaced the Yaw sensor and the fault it s till there. All my ohm specs are within tolerance. So I have no idea. The car has 320,000 miles on it. I could replace all the rust and I'm sure all the problems would go away. But, I'm not going to replace all the rust. Becuase that would become expensive. So, some things I just live with. 8)

I agree with the new formulation of the EBC Red's. I am running them right now on my '04 Outback and I love them.
