Tire recommendations for the Impreza

Post by Legacy777 »

Well the front tires on the Impreza are almost bald....but as much as I don't care that much....my inspection is due at the end of the month and they may not pass the car....plus it'd probably be good to get new tires for the heavy rainy days to come. She's already a little squirmy in the rain when going through deeper puddles.

I currently have a set of Yokohama YK520's on there. They've been alright tires....abuse them, and they held up pretty well so I can't complain too much :)

My tire size is 205/60-15

Any recommendations?

Thanks
Josh

Josh, I have Potenza RE760's on my RS, and they are fantastic! First summer tires I've had. They do awesome in the rain as well. I swapped them onto my SS and it was a revelation on how much better the car could handle. It reduced the understeer massively.

I would say probably in the sporty to all-season range. This is my daily driver so it has to deal with the abuse and mileage.

Mike, thanks for the recommendation. How many miles have you put on them?

I have put around 10,000 miles on them, and the previous owner put about a year's worth when he owned the car. They have just under half their tread life left.

Ok, so they'll probably last about 40k....give or take.

Thanks
