Thanks guys. I've got a set of stock 02 WRX wheels, so if you can test fit those and they fit, my wheels should fit fine.

Thanks
Josh

So Just a little update... Got the windows tinted all around and installed a walbro 255 fuel pump. Ill have pics up soon.

Josh I tried to put on a stock WRX 16inch Wheel and it was scrapping the caliper. With a spacer they would work, without they wont.

Ok, so there's a possibility my normal wheels would clear the caliper then. I think there's enough room. Where do the calipers scrap the wheel, the outside (facing you) or towards the tire?

Thanks again!
Josh

So when I tried the WRX wheel it was hitting right where it says Subaru on the side of the caliper. The wheel could rotate fine even though clearance was tight along the inside of the wheel. If you had a spacer to bring the wheel out away from the caliper more I believe they would work. So yeah it was rubbing on the outside of the caliper.

Tim,

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry for the late reply. My wheels have +45mm offset. The stock WRX wheels are +53mm, so I think that alone would bring them out far enough to clear the calipers.

Here is quick vid I made (basically a sound clip) so I could see how loud the Td04 is through my exhaust. Click the blob picture above and it will bring you to the vid. Personally I LOVE the sound of this exhaust combo.

Lip is a little to big for me but other than that, very clean looking. Those wheels go really well with that silver.

Volvo lip was a little to low with the new drop so it has since been removed.

More pics to follow of the engine i just picked up, Almost complete EJ22T with 91XXX miles! So im now the proud owner of 3 complete EJ22T Engines! Gonna do a light restoration on the engine and freshen up under the hood. Hopefully soon get a Rob Tune ECU going and a bigger turbo and improve the intercooler. Ill be posting pics of the process. :-D

Nice Shots Tom ! :!: !

Think I should start doing the same when I get mine on the road. Compression test was at bottom specs and pretty sure its leaking from the rear main. Just wish I did a Comp test before i pulled the 91 motor. Guess there;s always a more accurate leak down test.

Are you pulling it apart ? or just cleaning it up externally ?

I really really wanna pull it apart and go over the heads and replace the head gaskets but I I know that if I scratch the surface ill end up digging deep... I have another ej22t that I think I'm gonna build up real nice. On the engine pictured i think imjust do the basic timing belt/ water pump stuff on this engine and drop it in without splitting it apart and just cross my fingers that its more legit than the tired engine that's in my car now.

Alright so here are some update pics

Image
Image

Just got everything pulled apart, decided to go ahead and replace the head gaskets. Everything looked pretty darn good Cylinder walls still have the factory crosshatch. I like that. Heads looked good just a little bit of carbon build-up but that will all be cleaned up. I'm gonna clean the carbon off the pistons and the valves and check to make sure that the heads are not warped at all. Im gonna go with OEM head gaskets cause I've read that they are they best. At this point im just trying to get this thing running again ASAP. Does anyone have a good suggestion for a sweet Clutch, Pressure plate and Flywheel setup?? More pics to follow as the build goes on.

I have a stock-replacement exedy clutch kit, and an oem 02 WRX Flywheel @ 20lbs. Apparently later years were ~28 lbs. If I did it again, I'd keep the exedy kit, but do a ~13-14lbs light flywheel.
