Yes they can. If they have the parts they need to replace.

It probably wouldn't help, and could hurt since the size is larger, and can cause the exhaust gasses to lose velocity.

Ive seen turbos go out because flex sections in an aftermarket uppipe fail... I can only imagine an aftermarket crosspipe can do the same no matter the brand...

i got the subie to the new shop yesterday. drove it in 3rd all the way lol. i did notice the check engine light kicked on every time i took my foot off the gas. and the idle was jumpy. it would idle real high then drop down almost to a stall then back up high. i'll try to get pics today or tomorrow if its still outside of the new shop

i talked to the guy that runs the shop that the subie is at now. he said theres something binding up in the trans because when you make sharp turns it feels like a 4x4 with its lockers engaged.

Tell him to put a fuse in the FWD fuse holder and see if that makes the binding go away. If it does, then the duty c solenoid is probably fine, and the problem is with the clutch packs and will likely need to be replaced. If the binding does not go away with the fuse in the the FWD fuse holder, then the duty c solenoid is probably the likely culprit.

They could be related, but until you can narrow down the issue to the duty c solenoid or the clutches, I'd be hesitent to say one way or another.

Ummm....there is no viscous coupler in an automatic transmission.

I'd suggest confirming with him on what he thinks the problem is. He's not leaving me with a warm fuzzy feeling that he knows what he's talking about.
