Things that Should Not fit in a Subaru!

Post by Alphius »

Let's see if anyone has any other good pictures! These two examples were personally achieved by me recently.

A full sized refrigerator and furniture dolly in a '98 Outback:

And a lawnmower in the back of my Turbo Legacy. This was more difficult to achieve than it appears.

Good thread idea!
I don't have any pics, but I once transported a one-piece cat back for a XR4Ti inside my wagon. Some was out the passenger front window and a bit hung out the hatch, but it worked. Amazingly, the purchaser transported it home in his CRX.

I put a small top opening freezer in my 97 Impreza Outback. The tough part was getting it in. I don't know if I have any pics though. I'll have to check. I'll also have to see if I have any pics of my cross-country trip where I had the Legacy packed with all my belongings when I left to go to college. You couldn't recline either of the front seats.

Lets see... I've moved several times with the outback so everything up to washers and driers, mattresses and dressers, chairs, tables, etc fit in.

In my 96 Legacy sedan I've had a longblock in the trunk in the wheel well (took a hoist to get it out but it worked),
-two trannies back there,
-tranny in the back seat
-long block in the back seat
-ginormous flatscreen that was so big I had to roll down the rear windows to get the top corners to fit
-huge CRT (we're talking couple hundred pounds) in the front passenger seat. Still have marks on the dash from that lol.

My 91 SS came pretty stripped out, and included two engines (sadly both were non rebuildable) and the tranny in the passenger area, along with exhausts, brakes, tires and a ton of spares. The suspension which is already really low, was bottomed out and we had difficulty getting it on the flatbed to my house LOL.

I folded a full size mattress into my touring wagon. I could probably jam a queen in there if I needed.

Hauled a full turbo back exhaust pretty easy.

I could almost pass on a uhaul for my next move.

I've got a '99 2.2 in my trunk right now, resting on the timing gears and such. I took the power steering pump and a/c compressor off before putting it in and there was no alternator. Its got bad bearing and I got it for free with the idea of stripping it down to see how these motors work.

I also took a hood, front bumper, both driver's side doors with glass and a front fender home in the back of my girlfriend's Outback, but I don't have any pictures of that load. :)

On that note I've found that you cannot put a legacy hood inside a legacy sedan. :(

I've moved so much stuff with my car... I've had the back seats folded down and the rear completely packed with moving stuff, with things crammed between he boxes up to the ceiling. And then a lawnmower and a couple other things on the roof. I think it was most of the stuff out of our 1br apartment. Moving trucks are for sedan owners :-p

You also got all of that into your 99 Wagon. Still don't know how that hood fit.

Most I've gotten was a set of 20" Camaro RS rims (no tires). got two in the truck, two in the back seats. :)
