That's the way those were set up overseas for some reason. If you look up jdm ej25d on eBay you'll see they also had turbo style water pumps, EL manifold. Somewhere in sl-i.net there is a guy with a grand wagon (outback) who has some detailed pics of the crossmember and exhaust setup.

Yeah, all jdm BG9's had that style, they went back to normal for the BH's. the best part is they decided to make the flange positions identical to turbo headers, so it's a fairly common mod here for poor mans equal length headers. Not so common is the vice versa, I put the setup in my N/A BC then swapped to turbo headers to get a turbo like growl. Best part is I need only sway up and down pipes now to install a turbo.

Actually, it's not as out of reach as one might think.

Google "Arduino tutorial" and "Learning Arduino". TONS of info and help out there to be found. I have been playing with a $65 kit with my son that could likely do the job.

The second gen Auto A/C controller has a large screen area, while our first gen has only a tiny screen area to utilize. That might be the hardest part of the project. Keep in mind that the MCM solution is still a manual A/C system - you tell it what to do - it's just doing it through electronic means. The OEM Subaru Auto A/C system controls everything automatically based on a temperature you tell it.
