I just had my alignment done...and noticed that while all the settings are now within the manafacturers specs...that there is a bit of range to these specs, and that within this range, the alignment settings seemed rather random, So I am wondering, should the settings be the same all around? are their supposed to be variations between drivers and passengers side settings, etc? Is anywhere within the manafacturers specs without any reference to the other tires, which are also anywhere within the specs really ok? Having a hard time phrasing this I guess, but I'm naturally attracted to symetry...so it bugs me!
Thanks

They should be as close as the dude can get, or be the same. A good street performance setup is about 1.0 degree of negative camber all the way around.
The only reason the numbers should be off from side to side is if you have some other numbers like caster that are different on one side vs. the other. The difference can help the car track better. If you get a shop that knows how to align a car, they should know this.
I go to a local shop that does know what they're doing, and also knows my car goes to the autocross and maybe the track once and a while (if I ever get the time again ) I have a BD running STi v5 struts and H&R springs, so it is lowered......
NEway they gave me 1.6 degrees negative in the rear (about the same as a well set up e38 or e30 BMW), -1 front right and -.6 front left. My weight in the driver seat will bring that side closer to -1 on the road and give the car a more stable approach. I rarely have passengers so that is ok with me. Turn-in and steering response are very quick now, but it is harder on tires. It is still within spec of course, but the aggresive rear settings are showing up on the inside of the tread.
