ABS malfunction on '91 european model

Post by Widebody »

Hello everybody.

I'am having a little problem recently with the ABS system on my "91 Turbo Legacy. Hope you can give me some pointers how to try and fix this without big bills from the shop, if possible.
This is an Europ. Model, I live in the Netherlands, and since last week my ABS light comes on after stopping the car and when i keep my foot on the pedal the pump starts working an i can feel the brakepedal pulsating up and down. If i pull the parking brake and then put my foot on the pedal nothing happens. When the malfunction occurs i reset it by restarting the engine. I think there's a problem with one of the rear sensors or some other elec. circuit.
Hope you guys can help me to figure this out. Also where can i read my malfunction codes?

As far as i know there are only 6 other legacy turbo sedans in Holland. So i want to keep this beauty as long as possible.

Thanks in advance,

Marc

I don't know if your car's ABS system is similar to the ones that North American models have, but it seems likely. Check out this thread:
