well i recently installed a newer 4eat into my 93 ss and it runs somewhat.the day i finished the swap i took it out for a test drive. it ran pretty good and at one point it didnt slip at all and felt nice and fast. well it also decided to spit its atf out and not move. today i decided to make it go again. i took the dents out of the tranny pan and fixed the leaking line.(found it when it sprayed all over my apartment!). well i got it to move, but it shifts slow and slips, and the pan leaks(fixable) . as you can probably figure i hate automatics, or atleast the 4eat. well the way i see it im at the end of the road for this car. its either find a manual swap or sell it.
today i found a 93 wagon for 500$. what i want to know is could the 5 speed, diff and driveshaft come out of that car and go onto my 93 ss? or would it be easyer to put my engine into that car. either way would be cool i wouldnt mind having a wagon. i just dont want to get rid of the awd turbo fun.......
wagon--> sedan

It would likely be a little bit easier to do a transmission swap from the 93 wagon, but then you'd have another whole car to worry about having around. The NA 5MT is strong, but probably not as strong as the SS trans. That said, if you get the wagon you'll also have all of the necessary bits to do the swap like pedals, gear shift, etc.
Swapping the engine is a bit more of a headache on the wiring and electrical side, though I'm sure someone else can fill in the details.

Cam seals are easy if you can do a 5mt swap

Regarding the swaps.....I've done both. Each has their own challenges, but I'd probably agree that the 5mt swap is less headache with wiring.
My writeup covers everything you'll need to do.
