motor running bad

Post by corstar »

So my 91 leg turbo SS has been running bad since I got it. High idle, stalling when stopped, and sounds like it is backfiring in the motor. When I push down to the floor the turbo spools up but nothing happens (I mean it stays at the same RPMs). and it shutters and makes a popping noise in the motor. I replaced the entire throttle body with a used part and that didnt help at all. Some seem to think it is the cat or the vaccum line sensor, or the idle control valve but i thought it was on the throttle body. I am knd of lost now any help would be great.

went to subaru today and had the codes pulled, bad news. 42 for idle switch, 35 canister purge system, 31 throttle position sensor circuit, 22 knock sensor circuit, vacumm lines are missing or broken, intake box broken, may also have electrical problem, etc. etc. etc. about a thousand for parts alone and my friend runs the dealership. Not worth fixing since I bought it for 600 bucks. It barely made it home from the dealer. Sad day.
