FS or Part Out my 92 Legacy Turbo Wagon

Post by 95LegacyLsi »

I regret to have to do this but I can not afford to rebuild the block.

The block has bad compression on the passenger side bank of cylinders and after oil was introduced to the combustion chamber the numbers increaced, leading to the assumption that the rings are bad.

New head gasket that was attached never driven so it can be bought too.

So whatever you want I can take off with great care

I wish there was a way to fix this with out the rebuild but the head isnt the problem so piston rings must be.

If you have any questions or would like a picture of what you want to buy just let me know

Will trade whole car for any motorcycle that runs.

know it's far but what you asking for whole car. is it an automatic?
if only parting out what are you asking for the air intake from fliter up to TB? also vacuum routing plastic pieces for crankcase vent, any plastic piece that goes into the air inlet tubes. oh and the resvior that go on the top of motor on drivers side?

thanks for your assistance in this matter.

the car is an automatic and as is for all of maybe a couple grand i'd like to get a little bit because it is missing nothing except one interior trim panel piece.

as far as the little stuff give me a price you think could be fair and I'll let you know

BTW pictures if anyone wants to see the car can be found:

I just checked out the pics of your car, it looks way too nice to part out, unless there is rust that does not show in the pics.

really there is hardly any rust on the car, there once was a time in the car's life where both valve covers and the oil pan gasket leaked profusely and a layer of oil now adorns the undercarriage where it acts as a sealant and outer layer of protection. the only real rust is on the inside of the wagon door, where outside the weather stripping where all the water has drained since 92. Its a great car it really is and its just a shame to have to part with it like this but it should potential wherever anyone wants to put it in

PS anyone out there have any family or friends in the shipping buisness that could hook up some of the deliveries? just thought i should ask everyone

I agree with Frank. Your car is too nice to part out. Frank's a great guy--if he can hook you up with a good, used turbo engine, go for it. It's probably the least expensive way to get your car back up and running again.

Ya it did look VERY mint from those pics, if all it needs is a engine, no need to part out, but if you still want to, i wouldnt mind just gettings the driver sider corner light.

tips

Post by bepa »

one tip is if you can do any kind of wrench turning it is not so hard to change a subaru motor. if not holla at someone local. if it is a turbo try to keep it. they are great cars, hold up well and safe for sure.

me not being you, it could be tighter then I know on your end. but take it from me, I wish I had held on to all 3 SS's before this one. if only I knew. your pretty far away but if sh*t came to it Maybe I could even work something out to help you.

these are great cars, give it a minute before you part it out.

if blackbart is saying you have a clean car and sure try to keep it, he's giving good advice and usually has parts you could use also.

be well. Daniel.

Dang, I'm in Atlanta AND I just got rid of a running CBR600 that I certainly would have traded for this car.

Changing a Subaru motor is not that difficult, you should be able to find a donor car or motor by itself and just drop it in, forget about rebuilding your bottom end.

Give me a shout if you want some help, I'm in Roswell and have a massive garage :)

I appreciate the look out jp, and there is one possible engine swap on deck, though its really just on me to afford it.

I would much rather see the car running than in pieces but I really wish you would have seen this before the Honda was gone. still I may take you up on your offer soon
