Head gasgets replacement

Post by bny82 »

Heya guys I have a question to ask.

I bought a 1990 liberty with EJ22 n/a for my dad all it needs is cvs and rear shocks and ......... Head gaskets!

I am feeling very lazy, has anyone successfully replaced the head gaskets without removing the rocker covers and rocker gear?

If I have to remove it all I will if I don't I won't hehe.
Thanks

Just to clarify.....are you talking about the valve covers & cam gear?

If so.....you could probably leave the valve covers on......and I don't think you'd have to remove the cam gear, but the timing belt obviously has to be removed.

Yeah I am talking valve covers and cam gear. Over here is Aus they are also referred to as rocker assembly, just to confuse.

All the seals and valve cover gaskets are new I didn't want to waste money.

I'll give it a shot, if they get in the way have to come off so be it.

Thanks
