Hey those things are like 11 inches across.

Next weekend I'm finally putting bigger brakes on my car.

Other goodies include goodridge lines and axxis ultimates. I'll also see if I can fabricate myself some sort of a master cylinder brace.

Bonus riced out Lexus picture:

H6 rears?

I'm trying to get Racing Brake to make a "stock caliper big brake" kit for the Legacy Turbo vented rears. I'd like a 290mm vented rear option using the Legacy turbo caliper.

They probably won't find it worthwhile when they would be the exact same thing as LGT rears, and it would really only benefit turbo legacy owners who wanted to upgrade the rear brakes.

Yeah they're 'H6' brackets and rotors. I'm putting wrx fronts on so I needed these to keep the bias the same. Next weekend my boss and I are having a brake install day. We're putting new rotors and pads on his CR-V and new pads on his wife's Forester. In exchange for doing most of the work he bought me this stuff.

I did not know that about the LGT brakes.

I wonder if the LGT bracket would fit the Legacy turbo caliper...

I would prefer using the Legacy Turbo caliper and an extended bracket with a big rotor. It's less expensive than an LGT setup.

If they could do a rotor and bracket setup for $290 (like their H6 upgrade) it would be mighty competitive to an LGT rear setup (all stock parts look to run around $350 to $400 for stock pads and rotors). New/refab legacy turbo calipers can be gotten for $90 each from Autozone.

yeah the lgt brakes are 290x18mm, which is the same diameter as h6 rears but vented and the same width as turbo rears.

and no the turbo calipers won't fit on those brackets, as far as I know anyway. I'll be able to say for sure definitely next weekend, but in the front at least brakes changed in 96, and went from the pin and bolt setup to two slide pin that fit into the bracket.

The nice thing about the h6 upgrade is that everyone with a wrx or whatever can do it. These OEM parts from were $250 shipped from subiegal for rotors and brackets, and if you have an 02 wrx that's all you need (or if you order from racing brake it doesn't matter what year your car is). There are a lot more wrxes around that turbo legacies.

I borrowed an IR thermometer from work and went up the angeles crest highway with some friends last night.

Saw rotor temps of 700F on raybestos ceramics and watery fluid before fade. Wish I'd done this with the HPSes. I think they're good for around 1000 deg.

I doubt I'll even be able to get the new setup that hot on a public road. Guess I'll find out next Sunday.

That'll be a nice real-world comparison.

As for brake bias differences, I don't really have an problems. I've got WRX front brakes and Legacy Turbo rear brakes on my Forester. It's kinda nice.

I want larger rears, simply for increased holding with less pedal pressure.
