"Modern Japanese Classic": Wireframe Impreza

Post by rallysam »

I know this is probably WTLW or WTLY, but I took some of my own pics, so I thought I'd post 'em.

Every time I see that I think it's photoshopped or something. I want to see it up close.

^^

8 = 2.0L turbo jdm

GC8 = 4-door Impreza 2.0L turbo...not available in the US from the dealer
GM8 = 2-door Impreza 2.0L turbo...again not available in the US from the dealer

This is all silly. I know technically it's not a GC, but I use it because it's just the colloquial term for it. Everybody uses it, and we need SOME term that refers to the whole era, so why not? No need to be so technical.

On top of that, original post was a picture, so the other stupid thing about this GC talk is that it's a hijack.

Yeah, I thought it was a photochop the first time I saw it. Shooting with the flash really makes it "pop" out of the background and look fake.

I have some more pics here including a close up:

It's a work of art that's been bouncing around, mostly in London or other parts of the UK and Ireland, I think. This is in the lobby of a trendy hotel/bar/restaurant in London. The guys didn't seem to be surprised to see someone come in the lobby and shoot a whole bunch of pictures... I must not have been the first!

first shot of it i saw had it parked on the side of the street outside the place it was being presented.

P.S. it could be either a gm6 or gm8, and I don't know why people get so touchy about the subject. The same thing happened at nasioc, splinter corrected someone and they started freaking out, just laugh it off, or tell him to stfu. I think its funny though when he corrects people though :)

PP.SS. I call em all GC/Gm's GC's

The likeness is really good. I wonder if the artist built some kind of internal support while connecting the bars?

My friend was guessing that the artist built the wires over a real car to do at least the outer shell.

Um youre not correcting me, I didnt mention the engine code, and being JDM has nothing to do with being an 8... they had non-turbo coupes there too.

Dont get all pissy at me because Ive called your bullshit a couple times, I still think you're a whizz.

And what makes the wire frame car JDM?

I'm kinda guilty about calling people out on the GC8 thing.

Really, the only thing that bothers me is when people swear by wrong information, like someone arguing to the teeth that their USDM 2.5RS is officially a GC8 chassis.

But, how long did we insist on this forum that our cars were BC/BF chassis without ever acknowledging the BJ chassis? In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't mean shit.
